About MaterialCalculator.app

MaterialCalculator.app is a set of free, browser-based calculators that estimate how much material a building or renovation job may need.

Who it is for

Homeowners planning a renovation and tradespeople who want a quick second check before ordering. The aim is estimates you can understand and verify yourself, not engineering advice.

What it estimates

Areas, volumes and quantities of common materials: paint, bricks, concrete, cement, tiles, gravel, sand, plaster, flooring, roofing area, drywall, pavers, decking, insulation, asphalt, foundation concrete, mortar, wall area, stone and stair surfaces.

How it works

All calculations run in your browser code; there is no server-side calculation. Each calculator uses fixed product assumptions (for example panel size, bag size and material densities) which are listed on its page and cannot be edited.

How to verify a result

Every calculator page shows its formula, a variable list and a worked example computed from the default values. Repeat the example by hand, then compare quantities, pack sizes and densities with your supplier or the manufacturer datasheet. Where they differ, trust the manufacturer and the actual site conditions.

See the methodology page for units, rounding and waste.

Name and branding

The site operates as MaterialCalculator.app. You may also see the earlier name Construction Calculator Hub in the interface; they refer to the same site.

Reporting an incorrect result

If a result looks wrong, email info@materialcalculator.app with the calculator name, the values you entered, the result and what you expected. See the contact page for details.

What this site does not claim

No owner credentials, endorsements or formal expert review are claimed. Estimates are not engineering, structural or safety advice.
